Location: Sioux Falls South Dakota

Description: Sanford Health is presently looking of Registered Nurse (part-time) ~ GI Center right now, this position will be placed in South Dakota. More details about this position opportunity kindly read the description below. Part-Time, 48 hours per pay period. Eight hour shift with a start time between the hours of 6a-8a. Monday-Friday. Occasional call during the week with rotat! ing weekend call (currently every 8-9th weekend).

The Registered Nurse demonstrates skilled procedural abilities and practices within the framework of the nursing process. The nurse coordinates and provides direct patient care in a structured environment while adhering to and supporting hospital and unit philosophy goals and standards of care. The nurse is a highly effective communicator with patient, family and other health care team members. The nurse is a patient advocate. The nurse fosters the development of colleagues and students. He/she demonstrates advanced technical competencies, positive interpersonal relationships and well-developed critical thinking skills to promote and provide quality health care for patients. The nurse has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

The RN functions within the scope an! d standards of nursing practice as outlined in the South Dakot! a Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules. The Sanford Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice (2004) and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements (2001) as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation for nursing care delivery.

Required Skills

Graduate from an American Association of Colleges of nursing or National League for Nursing accredited college of nursing. Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred. Must be able to work with growth and development needs of pediatric to geriatric client populations as well as diverse cultures. Strong communication skills with patient, family and health care team including knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to use reference materials and multi-task. Ability to provide pre-and post-op nursing care to patients. Refer to department self-assessment checklist for specifics.

Graduate of State Board of Nursing approved school of nursing. Currentl! y licensed with the applicable State Nursing Board and/or possess multistate licensure privileges as required by position.

Scheduled work hours will vary dependant on patient and unit needs. This includes variable shifts, overtime, under-time, days.
