DUTIES:
LPN will provide support to the Primary and Specialty Medicine Service Line in the Cardiology clinic. Incumbent uses motivational interviewing and hea! lth coaching to guide patients, reviews daily schedules for patient care needs, assists with medication reconciliation, measures vital signs and treatments, assists providers with exams/procedures, appropriate clinical reminders, administers/tracks immunizations (LPN/LVN), prepares and administers medications, completes orders per provider or protocol, keeps provider on schedule, ensures visit closure by confirming required patient education and orders have been processed and completed, appointment scheduling including EWL and Recall, pre-visit contacts, observes, records, and reports patient's response or changes in patient's condition, promptly recognizes and responds to urgent or emergent situations, assists with messages from patients and face-to-face visits, checks daily equipment/supplies and restock, practices per protocols and follows medical center policies. Preferred knowledge and experience in cardiac rhythms, performing EKG's, and Holter Monitor placement and MA! RS/MUSE Software.
Preferred Experience: Knowledge and e! xperience in cardiac rhythms, performing EKG's, and Holter Monitor placement and MARS/MUSE Software.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate of a school of practical or
vocational nursing approved by appropriate State agency and/or accredited by
the National League of Nursing (NLNAC;

at the time the program was completed
Possess a current, full, active, and
unrestricted registration as a licensed practical or vocational nurse
Proficient in spoken and written
English language
Pre-employment physical with possible
drug screening

GRADE DETERMINATIONS:
GS-4
Six
months of qualifying experience as an LPN or LVN; or graduation from an
approved school and one year of experience that involved nursing care work in a
hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home, or other supervised medical,
nursing, or patient care facility that provided a practical knowledge of human
body structure and sterile techniques and procedures; or graduation from an
approved school of at least 24 months duration.
GS-5
Completion of at least 1 year of qualifying experience at the GS-4 level or
equivalent, fully meeting all performance requirements for the GS-4 LPN/LVN.
GS-6
Completion of at least 1 year of qualifying experience at the GS-5 level
or equivalent, fully meeting all performance requirements for the GS-5 LPN/LVN.
