Provides clerical services to the nursing unit. Serves as a liaison for the nurse and patient in interdepartmental communications. Functions in public r! elations role as receptionist. Assists with application and routine monitoring of cardiac rhythms for telemetry patients. May assist in nursing
care under the direction of the RN caring for that patient.
Able to recognize basic and advanced rhythms and make measurements of these rhythms. Must be able to complete all telemetry functions, which include: Putting on telemetry monitors, taking off monitors and completing all paperwork associated with this process; and posting of all strips during shift. Able to complete patient orders accurately and completely. Good customer service and communication skills a must. Must have basic computer skills. Must be able to multi-task.
