Description: PRE-REGISTRATION - SANFORD SOUTH UNIVERSITY 1711 OFFICE BUILDING is at the momment seeking for REGISTRATION SVS ASST-FLOAT right now, this career will be placed in North Dakota. Register patients according to policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely information for billing and to provid! e excellent customer service. Provide registration coverage for open positions and for associates on PTO or UPTO in Patient Access Services. Maintain flexibility to work multiple locations and shifts. Reports to As Assigned Education, Experience and Skills Requirements Post secondary education or equivalent training in a healthcare or business related field is required. Previous customer service experience in an office setting, preferably in a healthcare setting. Must have knowledge of registration procedures, extensive computer skills, basic knowledge of system applications, billing systems, and third party payers. Medical terminology desired. Licensure/Certification Requirement None Job Specific Competencies
Demonstrates knowledge of clinic and hospital (as appropriate) registration systems, including patient and guarantor demographics.

Determines correct third party payer, including knowledge of insurance coverage, referral requirements and online verificati! on of eligibility.

Assesses and requests payment requ! irements (i.e., co-pays, pre-paid services, and payment on account) and follows through with receipts and accurate cash bag handling.

Communicates persuasively and professionally with internal and external customers (i.e., providers, third party payers, social service agencies, nursing homes) to problem solve, explain policies and procedures, and comply with government and payer regulations.

Demonstrates skills in educating patients regarding forms they must sign (Financial Form, Notice of Privacy Practice, ABN), out-of-network options and HIPAA passwords.

Demonstrates ability to provide substitute coverage for multiple locations and shifts.
