:
Under general direction, operates radiologic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic x-ray films as prescribed by a physician and perform routine diagnostic procedures ac! cording to established standards and practices.
Essential Duties
:
Produce/process x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by a physician ensuring clear and undistorted films. Position and instruct patients regarding x-ray procedures and perform x-ray procedures using portable machine as requested by the emergency department or nursing units.
Prepare, clean and disinfect imaging suite by changing linens, stocking supplies and wiping off tables and equipment ensuring an efficient and clean work environment.
Protect patients from unnecessary exposure to radiation by using lead shields and various safety factors.
Prepare and assist in administering contrast agents by monitoring dosages and determining any potential allergies ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures.
Maintain patient information as needed by purging or updating patient film jackets and/or filing reports or film files to e! nsure accurate patient records.
Qualifications
:
High School graduate or equivalent required
Graduate of an AMA approved radiological training program
Experience
:
One year experience preferred
License/Certification
:
ARRT registered or registry eligible
Current BLS required
