Summary:
Professional order processing/verification responsibilities. Oversees and supervises activities of Pharmacy Technici! ans.
Job Responsibilities: Supervises the activities of Pharmacy support personnel related to the timely and accurate preparation, processing, and delivery of medication orders. Checks final processed orders and approves for delivery or release. Verifies all products prepared and source containers and amounts used for accuracy.
Maintains control and security of all drugs. Reviews, interprets, clarifies, enters, and verifies patients’ information and medication orders for processing within all hospital and pharmacy computer systems. Advises prescribers of medication-related issues and recommends alternate medications.
Interacts routinely with physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals to provide optimal pharmaceutical care to patients. Provides general and patient specific drug information to patients, physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals. Other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree! in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an university a! ccredited by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy with or without a pharmacy practice residency.
