Operates radiology equipment to make clinical diagnostic imaging films as directed by physicians and performs routine diagnos! tic procedures.
Essential Duties:
Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking diagnostic images following established procedures.
Instructs patients regarding procedures. Selects length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual patient basis. Observes patients for vital signs during examination.
Follows prescribed safety standards in operating radiology equipment; cleans and makes minor adjustments to radiological equipment. Maintains examination rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiological supplies.
Develops and processes radiological film, if applicable. Examines radiology film and/or digital exams for properties such as density and contracts, definition, magnification and distortion.
Delivers film to radiologists for reading/interpretation through various computer software systems, if applicable. Prepares films and/or digital copies for Physician/providers or outside provi! der needs.
Participates in training employees, reside! nts and student technologists in equipment operation, patient movement, and quality assurance.
Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested; enhances professional growth through continuing education programs, conferences and workshops.
Other: Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Graduate of an accredited school of radiological technology, equivalent on the job training, or military service or course; and registered in the State as a radiology technologist..
Experience:
Within the last two- (2) years, one- (1) year of experience as a radiology technologist preferred.

License/Certification:
State American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT/CCRT) certification required.
