The Licensed Practical Nurse performs a thorough and pertinent nursing assessment, appropriate to licensure; ensures health history is completed; performs testing procedures according to physician orders; identifies significant changes in patient’s condition and takes appropriate actions; performs procedures according to physician reference; administers medication/IV therapy and documents patient’s response to medication; provides patient/patient’s family with appropriate education and counseling; participates in development of care guidelines/patient care plan with patient/patient’s family and multidisciplinary team; personal care/comforts are performed according to established guidelines; provides patient care and collaborates with multidisciplinary team; maintains an accurat4 and complete patient record and evaluates outcomes and discharge proce! ss. In addition, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides cross t! rainable multidisciplinary treatment; maintains the Rehab environment and milieu and transports and/or transfers patients within the system and out. Patients care for include: children, adolescent, adult and geriatric. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED : Required: • Associate Degree in Licensed Practical Nursing. Any LPN with acceptable certification may apply (includes any LPN’s grandfathered into new certification requirements). • Licensed by the North Dakota Board of Nursing. • IV Certification required within one (1) year of employment. • Successful completion of the functional assessment.
