SUMMARY: The Avera Cancer Institute (ACI) Patient Service Center (PSC) operates under the direction of Campus Services and their function is t! he collection of diagnostic specimens from ACI patients. The RN is responsible for the collection of Line-Based specimens as well as peripheral vein phlebotomy. They are also responsible for providing front line evaluation of patient condition at presentation to ensure that any variance is brought to the attention of the appropriate clinician in a timely manner in accordance with established protocols.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required.
- Certification in specialty preferred.
- Membership in a professional organization preferred.
