The resource nurse for CCU/ICC/CTU is a RN who provides leadership to the assigned unit. The resource nurse is responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operations through maintaining: continuity in patient care, a commitment to excellence in care delivery, and relationships with physicians, case managers, nursing team, and ancillary departments. Through participatory leadership styles, assists patient care delivery team through supervision, delegation and consultation and supports the resource nurse when working as a clinical nurse.
QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)
Education and/or years experience required:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current licensure as a RN in the state of North! Dakota is required; BSN preferred. Professional certificate i! n practice (CCU/ICC: ACLS, PALS, TNCC and CCRN eligible; CTU: ACLS and PCCN eligible) with 2-year’s nursing experience in assigned service line required or ability to demonstrate proficiency in role. Previous leadership experience preferred. Maintains clinical competencies and knowledge at the proficient to expert practitioner level.
Technical Skills:
The incumbent must have the ability to access, manipulate, organize and relay information in meaningful ways using e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, report writer software and database management as applicable to the position.
Licensure/Certifications required:
Must be adept at caring for the patient’s age infant to geriatric (CCU/ICC) and adult to geriatric (CTU). Will be required to lift patients frequently requiring the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to exert at least 25 pounds of force to assist with patient transports. Frequent standing, walking, bending and ! stooping are involved. Must be able to comprehend and demonstrate hospital policies, procedures and guidelines. Frequent repetitive motions of hands/wrists involved.
