Description: THIEF RIVER FALLS MEDICAL/SURGICAL - SANFORD THIEF RIVER FALLS MEDICAL CENTER is currently seeking to employ TRF CARE TECHNICIAN right now, this vacancy will be placed in North Dakota. For detail informations about this vacancy opportunity please read the description below. Supports the nurse in patient care activities by completing tasks within scope of practice. This may include but is not limit! ed to: toileting, bathing, feeding, bed making, lifts/transfers, vital signs, weights and sitting. Transcribes physician orders under the direction of the nurse. Maintains patient records. Recognizes and reports any changes in patient condition (may include telemetry, if trained) to appropriate staff as assigned in the hospital and outpatient setting. Facilitates patient/nurse/provider communication and patient satisfaction. Reports to As Assigned Education, Experience and Skills Requirements High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must have knowledge of medical terminology, basic computer/office equipment skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and have strong communication/customer service and organizational skills. Completion of some form of health care training program (Certified Nurse Assistant is preferred, but will consider Emergency Medical Technician). Previous experience in a patient care relate! d position is also desirable. Basic Life Support Certification! required. Licensure/Certification Requirement Job Specific Competencies
Assessment: Contributes to the assessment of the health status of patients by collecting basic objective and subjective data, identified by the licensed nurse, from observations and interviews
Diagnosis: Identifies basic signs and symptoms of deviations from normal health status and provides basic information which licensed nurses use in the identification of problems and needs.
Planning: Contributes to the development of the plan of care for individuals by reporting basic data.
Evaluation: Contributes to the evaluation by documenting and communicating patient responses and assists with collecting data.
Prepares work areas and equipment to facilitate the licensed nurse/provider in performing patient care.
Performs general clerical and office support duties to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the service.
Transcribes and initiates the pro! cess for implementation of physician orders in an accurate and timely manner to ensure optimum patient care; performs order sign off as assigned.
Maintains individual patient medical records to ensure a complete and accurate patient chart is available.
Organizes and maintains the service area desk in an orderly manner to ensure efficiency in locating patient information, etc. as requested.
Demonstrates the ability to accurately refer information to appropriate person(s) and/or service areas.
Monitors patient activity as needed.
Facilitates increased patient satisfaction by communicating with the patient/nurse/provider and assisting with basic needs.
Provides support to the unit to ensure smooth, efficient operations.
Implementation: Participates in the giving of direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living, providing comfort measures and emotional support to patients whose condition is stable and predictable, documentin! g and communicating completion of delegated nursing interventions and p! atient responses and seeks guidance and direction when appropriate
Prints recordings from patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting, may include cardiac telemetry.
