Nursing Assistants (NA) work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to assist with nursing care to patients as directed by the nurse.! NA functions include: personal hygiene, comfort and safety measures, assisting with activity and simple nursing procedures outlined in the job responsibilities. The NA assists with maintaining a clean & safe environment for the patient. The NA has the ability & willingness to follow written &verbal instructions & work under close supervision. Effective verbal & written communications skills are necessary. The NA has the know-ledge of & utilizes appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients.
When students are providing patient care, treatment, and/or services as a part of their training, any/all employees may be asked to supervise the students.
Required Skills
A high school diploma/GED is required. On-the-job training will be provided. No formal NA training required. Nursing Assistants who give medications in the assisted living facility will successfully complete a 20-hour training cou! rse.
