Nursing Associate Professor

is a member of the academic faculty entrusted with leading fe! llow faculty in the development, implementation, evaluation, and optimization of the College’s program(s) curricula. An Associate Professor role models service to the College, its students, faculty, staff, the profession, and community. An Associate Professor is expected to execute the role of scholar through internal and external settings. Each faculty member is expected to abide by and promote the

, philosophy, and expected outcomes of the College and its programs within the philosophic framework and policies of OSF Healthcare and the College Board.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Earned doctoral degree in nursing or related field from regionally accredited college or university

Graduate degree in nursing if teaching in area of nursing

Evidence of continued self-development within profession

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Three years teaching experience at the baccalaureate or graduate level

Record of ! refereed paper/posters at professional meetings

Recor! d of refereed publications

Knowledge of teaching/learning theories and curriculum design

Two years experience in clinical nursing practice if teaching in area of nursing

Knowledge of subject matter in areas of nursing

Experience commensurate with area of teaching responsibility

Behavior reflecting “Code of Ethics for Nurses” (American Nurses Association, 2008)

Leadership, organizational, and analytical skills

Strong communication and teaching skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Grant writing

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:
Current, unencumbered RN license in

Illinois

if responsible for teaching nursing

Current CPR if teaching clinical nursing

Certification in clinical or educational specialty preferred
