RN Inpatient (Ambulatory Care)

POSITION SUMMARY:
The inpatient RN assigned to the ambulatory care unit is responsible for the care of varying ages of medical/surgical patients with the significant portion of the population being adults. The RN will assist with radiology procedures and screenings, having 24-hour accountability. The patient population also consists of patients who require observation and/or recovery time after procedures performed in x-ray, nuclear medicine, d! igestive disease unit, and angiography laboratory. Patients al! so include those undergoing physician examination, and preadmission assessment for surgery, patients having outpatient infusions and patients requiring use of the Pain Clinic. The registered professional nurse is responsible for meeting the

standards of nursing practice the patient care standards, and nursing service policies and procedures in conjunction with other members of the health care team.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
BSN or actively enrolled in a BSN program with completion within 5 years of start with OSF. Must show proof of enrollment or acceptance letter from College for the current/next semester. Validating documents must be shown at time of interview.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
Minimum Experience:
1 year of RN experience or completion of an RN Residency program.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
Current Illinois RN license (or license pending for new grads). Current American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS CPR or approved equivalent (must include infant through adult, one and two-man rescuer, use of AED, and choking with hands-on CPR skills return demonstration, and must be pre-approved by Org Dev/Human Resources) completed prior to employment.
