The Registered Nurse Data Coordinator is responsible for maintaining participation and/or coordination, consultation! and technical support of data systems to include quality measure required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Joint Commission, or other accrediting bodies, and clinical data registries. Although direct patient care is not part of this job role, understanding clinical presentations of disease processes across the age spectrum is necessary.
Must be able to write and verbally communicate the English language in a legible and understandable manner. Must be comfortable with communicating information to others. Must be willing to learn computer programs and applications necessary for data collection and analysis. Position requires familiarity with services offered. A familiarity with physicians and their practice patterns is necessary. Must be willing to make independent and timely decisions when circumstances warrant. Must possess the ability to deal effectively with personnel, regulatory agencies/personnel and the general public. Must be knowledgea! ble of nursing and medical practices and procedures. Must have! the ability to conceptualize the abstract. Must be able to collect and organize detailed information. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness and ability to handle difficult situations. Must be willing to seek out new information and knowledge and be willing to embrace new responsibilities and change.
The RN functions within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules. The Sanford Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice (2004) and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements (2001) as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation for nursing care delivery.
When students are providing patient care, treatment, and/or services as a part of their training, any/all employees may be asked to supervise the students.

Required Experience
"Gra! duation from a NLN or AACN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable. Current South Dakota RN license is required or multi-state licensure privileges. Bachelorâs Degree in nursing preferred."
CPHQ preferred. Must hold current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Dakota or multi-state licensure privileges.
