BSN or masters degree preferred or currently working towards a BSN degree. Lifting Requirements: Medium to 50 Pounds Endorsements: Desired Skills: Description: The OB Nursing Coordinator is accountable for assisting in the coordination of comprehensive nursing care of patients from admission to post discharge in the OB department and other departments in time of need. Demonstrate leadership skill that facilitates appropriate patient care management through effective planning, delegation and mentoring.
Utilize complex communication skills with patients, families, health care providers and the community. Serve as a patient advocate. Assist w! ith hands on clinical nursing care in crisis or peak census si! tuations. Responsible for coordination of all nursing division patient care assignments; ensure proper shift coverage, makes timely schedule changes, tracks and trends productivity and staffing, maintains fair and consistent staffing practice following the Nursing staffing P&P.
Maintain staffing levels with required nursing skills. Maintain productivity benchmarks and variances reports as appropriate. Assist to create an environment of stewardship and accountability. Reports and collaborates with the Director of Inpatient Services, the Patient Care Coordinator and Supervisors as needed.
MINIMUM LICENSE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota. BSN or masters degree preferred or currently working towards a BSN degree. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Two years of supervisory / leadership experience preferred with a minimum of one year required. A minimum of two years L&D clinical experience is required.
The successful candidat! e will have to pass competencies for this position. 80 hours per two week period. 8 or 12 hours shifts. Will work one weekend/month as needed.
